Information about Development Fund Auction:

The Development Fund (DF) was established in 1981 to aid veterinary faculties in disadvantaged countries, especially by improving the conditions of study, thus fulfilling the Association's aim of "raising the overall standard of veterinary education worldwide".

For this event every delegate, that means every one of you, brings something that he/she would like to be sold on the auction. This can be special things or clothes from your country, books, posters, items from you Veterinary faculty, CD's, packed foods or bottled drinks, just anything that you think the other students would be interested in, really anything! All of the things brought will then be sold at a silent and a live auction where you can bid on the things you like and hopefully, if you are fast enough or play your money right, be the lucky one to buy it. You could buy things you would have never dreamed of!

The money raised from the auction goes right into the IVSA Development Fund which supports disadvantaged veterinary faculties according to their needs. DF auction is a BIG EVENT and you need to be ready for it... In summary, bring something, make sure you have enough money, buy something special and have a lot of fun!

Information about Cultural Evening:

This is a congress tradition! Get ready to eat and drink your way through each of the present countries. Wear your flag and make your new friends taste whatever firewater you have brought from your homeland and "delicious" specialties. Get ready for a great night! It is one to remember"

Therefore, we ask you to bring food and beverages that are typical for your home country. Preferably things that do not need much preparation or cooking as we cannot guarantee access to kitchen facilities. There are supermarkets close to the place we're staying, in case you need to buy anything during your free time or preparation time.
Information about General Assemblies:

Every delegate is required to attend these meetings as important subjects are addressed and important decisions are made in which your country should participate to help IVSA grow and be better each year. During these meetings the Executive Committee of the IVSA makes revisions to the organization's constitution and presents their current work reports and future plans. You could also talk about local activities which take place in your IVSA chapters and Veterinary faculties, see presentation of exchanges and vote on the nominated countries to host the next IVSA Symposium and Congress.

We advice for everyone to drink moderately and get a good nights sleep the night before these meetings as they can be quite long and tedious at times, but with the cooperation from all of you the processes can take place smoother and you will surely know more about the IVSA and feel as an important member of it by the end.
